About
The tools and techniques in the database industry have changed a lot over the past 30 years. My professional purpose over this same time has remained constant — I help others make sense of data.
For 24 years I worked as a small business owner creating Microsoft database applications for a wide variety of customers and industries. Our first customer was a children's healthcare organization that was in need of a medical records tool. This project would begin a 20-year niche for our company in behavioral healthcare. It led to our authoring an electronic medical records tool that was used by over 60 therapeutic foster care homes in 5 Southern states.
Starting in 2016, I actively retrained to shore up my data science, data visualization and analysis skills.
In 2019, I transitioned from being a small-business owner to working with hospital systems where my role involves listening to end users and then creating data tools for them from the organization's data warehouse.

Personal
I'm an avid motorcyclist and sailor who has been fortunate to live in West Africa, India, Spain, and Manhattan. Born and raised in Michigan, I moved to Georgia in 1992 and have been a Rome resident since 2006. Camping and hiking are favorite activities I share with my wife and children.
